Street Sweeping & Flushing

Street Sweeping and flushing commences every year approximately March 1st and runs until approximately October 31st.

Street Sweeper/Flusher Truck

  • A sweeper/flusher truck is out on the streets daily to clean the gutters of debris and leaves; this process keeps the catch basins clean and ready for the storm water.
  • It takes about 2-3 weeks for the trucks to cover the City’s entire road network.

Vactor Truck

  • A Vactor truck cleans every storm collector in the City every 3-4 years. Keeping the storm collectors clean helps prevent and reduce the possibility of flooding.
  • Video inspections are also conducted by crew members and contractors to make sure there are no problems with the underground infrastructure (sewer pipes and water mains).
