Sidewalk maintenance work in Trail scheduled for April
Sidewalk maintenance work is scheduled to begin the week of April 7, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to improve pedestrian safety. Temporary sidewalk closures may be required as work moves throughout the city.
The work will involve saw-cutting vertical displacements in sidewalks to reduce tripping hazards and improve accessibility. This work will be completed by Safesidewalks Canada, with two crews operating simultaneously. Each crew will be equipped with a truck, trailer, and golf cart.
Work will take place at various locations across the city. Crews move efficiently and are not expected to remain in any one area for an extended period of time. Sidewalk closures are expected to be brief and temporary while work is underway.
The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of April, weather permitting.
Members of the public, who encounter active work areas, are asked to give crews adequate space and to use caution while moving through the area. This maintenance work is an important part of keeping sidewalks safe and accessible for pedestrians throughout the city.
If members of the public have concerns about the work, notice anything alarming, or would like to know whether their sidewalk is scheduled for repair, they can contact City of Trail Public Works directly.
